Memorial Park makes up 11 hectares of land and boasts not one but two large playgrounds, with swings, slides, climbing equipment, seesaws, bridges, climbing ropes and monkey bars to keep the kids entertained. While you’re at Memorial Park, make sure to check out the skate ramp, miniature railway train and mini golf course too.
Mt Drury Reserve

In the perfect location, Mt Drury Reserve is situated right across from Mt Maunganui Beach. The popular park features slides, swings, a roundabout, seesaw and climbing equipment, as well as a disability swing.
The Lakes Playground
Where: Caslani Lane
One of the newest playgrounds in Tauranga, The Lakes Playground has all the trimmings including a flying fox, a rope swing, a stand-up seesaw. But there is also a safe toddlers’ play area, with a mini trampoline, tunnels, a rocking horse and more.
The Lakes Water Playground

Tauranga’s first water playground is in Pakanga Grove at The Lakes. This cute little playground encourages water play with its little watering hole, river channels with different style gates to control water flow, water pumps and wheels.
The Strand Waterfront Playground
Where: The Strand
A playground that includes a lighthouse tower and a rope pirate ship is a winner in our eyes. But that’s not all, the Strand Waterfront Playground also has a life buoy, dancing snake swing, a flying saucer swing, a sandpit with a ride-on digger and a water sprinkler feature that kids can run through.
Yatton Park
Where: 505 Fraser Street
There are no swings or slides in sight at Yatton Park’s woodland-themed playground. Instead, there are climbing ropes, balance ropes, climbing posts, telephone speakers, binoculars and a mini trampoline for the kids to enjoy.
Fergusson Park
Where: 90 Tilbuy Drive
Fergusson Park has a solid playground with swings, slides, monkey bars and rocking horses.
Gordon Carmichael Reserve
Where: Carmichael Road
The Gordon Carmichael Reserve has a huge playground with a basket swing, normal swing, and climbing ropes to enjoy.

This peaceful playground, Kulim Park, has uninterrupted views of the Mount. It also has swings, slides and a flying fox which are perfect for a quiet afternoon at the park.
