This sweet, retro-styled party theme created by Cristina Riches of Bird’s Party Blog (blog.birdsparty.com) is a delicious way to celebrate strawberry season – or bring a touch of the outdoors inside. The décor includes lots of DIY and handmade details, like the ribbon cake bunting, homemade jam party favours, embellished drink bottles, crêpe paper pomanders, and mini fondant decorations on the desserts. Of course, you can use fresh strawberries for your party table, but fondant is easy to substitute if you haven’t had a chance to go strawberry picking just yet!

The themed party printables made decorating easy, while the home-baked desserts look bespoke when displayed in embellished paper cases. Vanilla cupcakes topped with cream cheese strawberry frosting are the perfect single-serve treats, while the vanilla sponge was decorated with fondant strawberries, fondant pearls, and mini bunting made from ribbon scraps. Cristina also served strawberry sugar cookies, strawberry marshmallow pops, macarons, and strawberry meringues. Empty juice bottles were repurposed by soaking off the original labels and decorating with printable wrappers. Cristina used a garden potting table to display the desserts on, for its rustic charm, and covered it with simple wrapping paper instead of a tablecloth. Pink and red carnations added a splash of colour and freshness. Totally sweet!
