I went to Madagascar The Musical and here's 4 reasons why you should too

Madagascar The Musical has impressed audiences in Auckland and now the production heads to Wellington and Christchurch. Here’s why we loved it:

  • The all-Kiwi cast. Not that you’d know it with the American accents (the show is based in a New York). Andrew Papas of Titanium leads as Alex the Lion, LeRoi Dale Kippen is Marty the Zebra, Kristin Paulse is Gloria the Hippo, and Ben Freeth as Melman the Giraffe.
  • It’s like travelling when we can’t. Set in New York’s Central Park Zoo with an unexpected and exciting journey to Madagascar.
  • To experience live theatre. There’s just something about live acting that blows cinema experiences and telly totally out of the water and shows our tamariki that there’s a future career in music and acting.
  • To dance. Without spilling too much, you’ll get more than one chance to ‘Move It, Move It’ and I dare you to try and stay sitting down when the beat starts.
