Mount Victoria Loop

Location: Lookout Road, Hatatai, Wellington   

Time: 2.5 hours – 4.7km

Elevated 196m above the city, this buggy-friendly walk is perfect for mums and dads looking to take some time out, and wanting a challenging walk with amazing views. Taking 2.5 hours, this walk is easily accessible, and offers 360-degree scenic views of Wellington Harbour and the city. Providing both short and longer scenic walks while your baby sleeps, this can be suitable for all parents of all fitness levels. Take a picnic along and sit on the hillside while watching ferries sail into the harbour.

Botanic Garden Walk

Location: Centennial entrance, 101 Glenmore Street, Kelburn   

Time: Varries

Botanic Garden Walk is known for its beautiful surroundings which give any mum or dad some much-needed time out. This garden offers 25 hectares of picturesque landscaping, with views over Wellington city. There are many different walks through the park, perfect for your baby to sleep while you enjoy the flowers. The Garden walk is a relaxing and peaceful place, ideal for a group of you to walk and enjoy a sunny day. After the walk, relax and have a bite to eat at the Picnic Café, located inside the Begonia House, or a picnic lunch on the benches.

Buggy Walk Groups (Third Thursday of every month)

Location: Kilbirinie Recreation Centre, Tinytown   

Time: 1 hour (starts 9.45am)

This walk is suited for the more social mums and dads looking to make some new friends while getting in some enjoyable form of exercise. Come join new parents on free guided buggy walks throughout the Wellington city and suburbs. Suitable for all parents of all fitness levels, with children under five years. Te Ahumairangi Hill Lookout Walk

 Location: The Northwestern end of the Wellington Town Belt  

Time: 30 minutes from city center to top of hill 

This Wellington landmark is one walk you won’t want to miss. A pram-friendly walk offering unbeatable views of Wellington Harbour to Pencarrow and down to the South Coast. This walk is ideal for busy parents, as the lookout is stunning in the evening and can be walked in a group while baby is falling asleep. The most scenic route is through the Bolton Street Cemetery and past the Botanical Garden. It’s also a dog-friendly walk, with car parking available to make for an easy trip with baby, friends, or family.

Wrights Hill Lookout Loop Walk

Location: 50 Wrights Hill Road, Kaori, Wellington    

Time: 1½ hours – 2.4km

Take some time out beyond the city, and walk the historical Wrights Hill Loop. The hill offers spectacular views of Wellington city, with walking tracks suitable for parents and prams. This walk has an extensive tunnel network built in WWII, which offers something more to your exercise excursion. Take a break and enjoy a homemade picnic on the benches provided.
