It's a girl! Jacinda's 3 stages of Labour

jacinda Three stages of Labour (woman, world leader, and working mum): Our Prime Minister as a strong, independent woman, a world leader rocking her baby bump, and a working mum all women can look up to.

Our very own “royal” baby has arrived — Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and her partner Clarke Gayford have welcomed their first child, a new baby girl, this evening.
The PM posted a gorgeous photo of herself, Clarke, and their new daughter on Instagram, saying, “Welcome to our village wee one. Feeling very lucky to have a healthy baby girl that arrived at 4.45pm weighing 3.31kg (7.3lb) Thank you so much for your best wishes and your kindness. We’re all doing really well thanks to the wonderful team at Auckland City Hospital.”
In an official press release, Jacinda commented, “I’m sure we’re going through all of the emotions new parents go through, but at the same time feeling so grateful for all the kindness and best wishes from so many people. Thank you.”

The Prime Minister’s office will announce later when the family is due to leave hospital.
Well wishes have been pouring in from around the world, with world leaders and fellow Kiwis congratulating the new parents on their happy news.
Jacinda plans to take six weeks of maternity leave, after which time Clarke will stay home with the baby and the new mum will return to leading the country.
We’re so proud of you, Jacinda, and so happy for you and Clarke!
