Where art and kids’ play collide

Party Kingdom, 16 Karepiro Drive, Stanmore Bay, Whangaparoa, Auckland

Need to know

There are two words that have been used a lot lately among mums on the North Shore in Auckland: “Party” and “Kingdom”. If you haven’t heard of this place before, it’s situated on Karepiro Drive, Stanmore Bay, Whangaparoa.

It’s the newest playground to take your young ones to climb, run, slide, and jump about in a safe environment, under the watchful eyes of parents while they sip the amazing in-house-made coffees, of course. The coffee alone is worth going for!

The owners and creative minds behind this party playland are parents of two Eve and Adam Dickinson. Eve is a kindergarten teacher and has really been enjoying getting stuck in with the decorative side, while Adam is used to running after kids at Playball, a place which teaches sport skills to pre-schoolers.

The colourful walls have been painted by local artist, Stu Duval. His imaginative creations range from a giant octopus to cleverly created themed rooms for birthday parties. The theme of the main playground is a giant pirate ship, which includes an 8,000-ball pit and a double bouncy castle slide. There are so many climbing and hiding spots, the possibilities for children’s imaginations are endless. For less adventurous or younger kids, there is a soft area with balls and musical toys to keep them entertained. Seating is in abundance for the parents to enjoy some downtime while the youngsters happily run wild. And we mentioned the amazing coffee, didn’t we?

If you’re looking for a place for your kids to explore and enjoy themselves, Party Kingdom is definitely worth a visit. It might become your regular go-to place for catch-ups (they said nothing about not letting adults go down the slides with the kids). Check out their website for more information on the great birthday party packages they have available too.
