DIY Lego Snow Globe

DIY snow globe

A Lego snow globe? OMG yes, if there was ever a simple craft idea that would get Lego enthusiasts sitting quietly at the table making gifts for friends, or little ornaments for their bedroom, well we’ve found it. We love this!

What you need

  • A jar
  • A Lego figurine and bricks
  • Glitter
  • Superglue
  • Waterproof sealer (optional)
  • Glycerin (optional)

Tips

  • Using cooled boiled water or distilled bottled water seems to work better than using tap water.
  • If you are working with under-3s, then it could be good to use plastic jars instead.

How to

  1. Build your Lego scene, making sure it will fit in your jar.
  2. Soak the label off your jar and give it a good clean.
  3. Sprinkle a teaspoon of glitter into the bottom of the jar, making sure it’s not the super-fine glitter as this will just float around the top of the jar.
  4. Apply the superglue to the bottom of your first piece of Lego (little hands may need some help with this step).
  5. Press the Lego brick firmly to the underside of the jar lid and leave to dry.
  6. Add the rest of your Lego scene to the superglued brick.
  7. If you are choosing to use a waterproof sealer, run it around the rim of the jar. This will help keep the lid in place and also help create a waterproof seal.
  8. Fill your jar with water right to the brim, you want as little air to be in the jar as possible. If you have chosen to use glycerin, you can add a tablespoon to the water inside your jar, this just helps thicken the water so the bits of glitter float slowly to the bottom.
  9. Screw the lid tightly onto the jar. Yay, job done!

Note: Because your snow globe is submerged in water, the figurine may become loose over time.
