Conductive Education Wellington

Need to know

Conductive Education is a comprehensive and structured learning programme for babies and young children with mild to extreme developmental delays.

Conductive Education works on improving areas of development such as: fine motor (hand skills), gross motor (sitting, crawling, standing, walking), communication and social skills, cognitive skills, self help and life skills. Conductors (specialists trained in Conductive Education) motivate and guide the children to develop self-awareness, the ability to problem solve and ultimately maximise independence. Conductors qualifications gained during their four years of training are recognised by the Ministry of Health and Education within New Zealand. Conductive Education/Conductors work alongside other Government support agencies. Any parents/caregivers can self refer their child for an assessment by the centre.
